Al een tijd was ik op zoek naar een groot en krachtig, zwart wit portret. Eentje die bij je binnen knalt, het moment dat je het ziet. Ons interieur had het nodig nu alle muren wit zijn in plaats van donker grijs. Gewoon een beetje tegenhang zeg maar.
Deze foto van dit Himalayaanse jongetje is het geworden. Het is net de Monalisa, hij blijft je volgen met zijn ogen, waar je ook staat in de kamer.
Het maakt een ontzettend mooi contrast met het hout en de witte muren van de woonkamer. En het groene stoeltje? Gisteren gevonden in de kringloopwinkel en eigenlijk is hij voor aan het bureau van mijn middelste zoon. Maar omdat het groen exact de kleur groen van de groene kat uit het Andy Warhol portret heeft, mag hij nog even blijven staan.
For a while I was looking for a big and powerfull portrait. One that hits you, the moment you see it. Our interior needed it, since all the walls are white now instead of the dark grey they used to be. They needed it for the contrast. I choose this picture of this Himalyan boy. He's like the Monalisa, his eyes follow you around, where ever you are.
The contrast of this picture with the white walls and the wood in the house is beautiful. And for this green chair? I found it at a thriftshop yesterday and bought it to place it at the desk of son, but the green matches so well withe the green cat in Andy Warhols portrait, it can stay here a little longer.
